About Becoming Gate

Furthering human becoming with dignity in a changing world.

Becoming Gate works alongside people and organizations living within consequential change through speaking, facilitation, participation design, and dialogue.

Our work begins with a simple recognition: Every person lives within change.

Organizations experience and report change through strategies, structures, performance, and results. People live change through life experience—in their work, relationships, families, communities, hopes, uncertainties, and futures.

These are not separate worlds.

They meet in the same living human being.

We believe that how people participate in change matters.

Meaningful participation can help organizations become better at what they do while also strengthening the human capacity to live within change beyond work.

Becoming Gate works alongside others to create conditions for consequential questions, shared intelligence, recognition, and meaningful participation.

We do not presume to know what people or organizations should become.

We believe those living the change must remain consequential in shaping what comes next.

Our mission is to further human becoming with dignity.

Our guiding conviction is simple: Human agency must remain consequential.

Our Beginning

Becoming Gate was founded by James L. Egbert, Human Change Strategist, author, speaker, and organizational practitioner.

His work in Living Human Change and Hope²Change explores how human beings recognize, participate within, and continue becoming through change—and what it may mean to remain consequentially human in a world of increasingly capable artificial intelligence.

Becoming Gate — Hope shows when a threshold appears.
