Setting Up a Collective Intelligence Lock Point

How the Set Up Works

A Collective Intelligence Lock Point begins with a conversation.

Each Lock Point is shaped around the people involved, the change they are living within, and one consequential question worth encountering together.

The structure is consistent: 90 minutes, one consequential question, and a standard group of up to 12 participants.

The question, people, and circumstances are unique to each organization.

1. Begin a Conversation

The first step is a conversation with James Egbert, founder of Becoming Gate and facilitator of the Lock Point.

We discuss what is happening in your organization, what people may be experiencing, and why bringing them together now may matter.

Together, we consider whether a Lock Point is appropriate.

There is no fee or obligation for this initial conversation.

2. Discern the Question

Every Lock Point centers on one consequential question.

We work together to identify a question grounded in what the organization and its people are actually experiencing.

The question is not selected from a standard list or designed to lead participants toward a predetermined answer.

It creates room for different experiences, perspectives, and understandings to encounter one another.

3. Select the Participants

The standard Lock Point includes up to 12 participants.

Selection begins with a simple consideration:

Whose experience, perspective, knowledge, or relationship to what is happening belongs in this conversation?

Participants need not hold particular titles, share the same views, or occupy the same level of the organization.

Other configurations may be considered at the host's request.

We can talk about what is happening within your team or organization, who is living within it, the consequential question that may be waiting to be encountered, and whether a Lock Point would be useful now.

There is no fee and no obligation for this initial brief conversation.
